THE REAL STORY
Turpin is a full-cast period action audio drama from Big Finish, starring Dónal Finn as the infamous highwayman Richard Turpin and Greg Wise as gentleman thief Tom King.
But this is no Robin Hood myth. Based on the real history of 18th-century Essex, Turpin tells the raw origin story of a butcher’s son who stumbled into crime, joined a violent gang, and became England’s most wanted man.
Set in the brutal criminal underworld of Georgian Britain, the series follows Turpin’s rise through poaching, robbery and betrayal to become the first great outlaw celebrity - a rebellious, punk figure in a country on the brink of modern capitalism.
